I downloaded Acrobat XI SDK and ran the visual studio plugin setup. Despite having proper VS 2010 setup on my Windows 7 machine, I receive “Please install Visual Studio 2010 before install Acrobat XI Plugin Wizard” error. I am really stuck here. Please guide how to fix it.

Which property of PDEFontAttrs structure retuns Size of Text Font?
Hello,
I am developing acrobat plugin to read pdf's text element and save it in .txt file. In the .txt file I want to save text as well as its FontName and Font Size.
Basically using PDETextGetFont() API which returns PDEFont object, then using PDEFont object in PDEFontGetAttrs() to get the PDEFontAttrs object. BUT here I am stuck, not sure which property of "PDEFontAttrs" exactly returns font size.
Is the above step right to get text font name and size? Or is there any other way to do this?
Please help me out, any suggestion on this will help me a lot.

Capture print event in adobe reader and show a message
Hi,
We have only adobe reader installed on our machines, is it possible to use the sdk to capture the print event in adobe reader? Our goal is to show a message to the users before the print dialog appears and
as soon as the user prints a document?

Can't sign plugin
We signed up for a Reader Integration Key license a few years ago.
A bug has recently been found in our plugin, so we fixed it but when we try to sign the plugin we get a "can't update resource in plugin" error.
Are the keys for Reader 9 different from 10 and 11? Could the problem be that we need a new key?

Sign PDF Documents
Hi All,
I have developed a smart card mini driver for a smart card and able to sign office documents. Now, I'm trying to sign a PDF document. To do so I'm using Adobe Acrobat Professional 11. When I try to sign the PDF document by clicking "Sign" button and when I debug my mini driver I see the document is try to sign using SHA-256 algorithm. However, the smart card and the mini driver developed only supports SHA1 algorithm.
How can I over come this problem. I have few questions here:
1. Is there a way I can make the Adobe Prof 11 to use SHA1 algorithm?
2. Do I need to develop an Adobe plugin so that it uses SHA1 algorithm to sign? If so, can I get some documentation?

enable reader plugin
I have a plugin written using SDK10 and visual studio 2008. It is a very simple one and just added a few lines of the code to PluginInit method in starter. The plugin’s name remains the same—“Starter”. It works fine in acrobat. When enable for reader, I used the following line:
SignPlugin -kp keypairFileName -cf RIKLA-DigCert.rc C:\......\Samples\Starter
keypairFileName is the name of the keyPair created by the MakeKeys tool in SDK10, RIKLA-DigCert.rc is the name of the Reader Integrated Key from Adobe.
I got “Can’t update resource in plugin” error.
The size of the public/private key pair and public key are correct. The key from adobe is a new one.
I'm not sure why this is happening. Any suggestions?

Created a master excel documnet (later a database) from scaned forms
I have 3,000 old forms all in the same format (pre printed) with data entered onto the forms. How can I define each area of the form that contains the specific content that I would like to place into a specific column with an export to excel. So for example scan form 1 - go down 1 inch from the top of the form and for a length of 1.25 inches I would like to take whatever in in this space on the form and place it in column A in Excel. And another place on the form down 5 inches and over 4 inches for 2 inches and place this content into column B in Excel. Then with a document feeder scan the next page and place the contend on the second scan in row 2 of the excel document.

Deploying Adobe reader plugin not working
Hi
I have an adobe reader plugin that works on my development machine. It displayes the toolbar in the "Extended" tab. I copied the .api file onto the plugins folder on another machine but the extended tab does not display. I also copied this onto the plugins folder just to test and this works.
Does anyone have any ideas? Is there some place where it(adobe reader) logs errors?.

Get text field value using AxAcroPDFLib control?

I search through internet and I couldn't find solution for my problem.
I have windows form application which using AxAcroPDFLib control. I load pdf file to this control and it is OK. Pdf file which is loaded have some text fields inside.
Can I get values of that text fields, using c#, if user change the default value in runtime?

Can I use the cerficate on another plugin
Hi
I was having some problems with my plugin i.e. it wasn't appearing on my deployment pc.
I copied the code from that project to another project.
This was a slow and painful process but it worked at the end of the day.
I got the new plugin to display the toolbar and I fixed my com dlls.
I assumed that was the reason for my main project not displaying the toolbar, but it wasn't.
I copied the original project to the deployment machine and the toolbar is still missing.
Can I register the new projcet with the certificate so it works on adobe reader.
I cannot wait for another key because by deadline is 2 days away.

Disable hand navigation in full-screen PDF
Hi everyone,
I'm working on an interactive PDF in InDesign that is set to view by default in full screen-mode in Acrobat. I've placed my own buttons and menus for navigating between pages. But when I view my PDF (in Reader) in full screen mode, my mouse icon becomes a small hand with a down arrow,and clicking anywhere on a page automatically advances to the next page.
This is causing viewers to accidentally moving to a new page by clicking in parts of the page that shouldn't be acting as a button.
There is a setting in Preferences > Full Screen that disables this functionality if you uncheck it - "Left click to go forward one page; right click to go back one page."
This setting is computer-specific; I'd like to try to insert script to force this setting to be turned off - does anyone know if this is possible, and if so, how to do it?

Open Multiple PDFs from within excel using VBA
Hi,
I'm using excel 2010 and would like to open pdfs based on filenames I have listed in excel.
I attached a little of my code below which gives an idea of what I'm doing.
First question:
Is there a way to open mutiple files so that they are in one "instance" of adobe?
The way this currently works, is it opens up a whole new window for each file which can make desktop very cluttered.
Second question:
Our pdfs are actually in Sharepoint and so what I am first doing, is converting the URL to point to a mapped directory of the Sharepoint Site.
For this to work, the user must first map the sharepoint directory to a specific drive letter.
I'm wondering if there's a way to pass an actual URL via a shell command so I can skip the mapped drive bit? When I try it, it doesn't open the file.

how can i hide navigation panel buttons
Hi, i would like to know how can i remove or hide programatically the navigation panel buttons because i have an applicattion where i open the pdf documents and i don´t want this buttons are shown never.i want that, when the application is open, the buttons don´t be shown. i´m refering to the button on the left of Adobe Reader 8: the botton are "pages", "how to","atachments", and "comments". thanks a lot for your help

I am working on some automation in that I used Acrobat Reader XI to view PDF.
I want to get display page number of opened PDF.
I used app.doc.pageNum();
It is giveing me the page number when I used this code in Acrobat Debuger manually.
But I am using VB.net. so please give me the solution how to run this code on opened PDF from vb.net and get the page number or can we create plugin which I can call from VB.Net code and get the page number
because I am not getting app object in VB.net.

FindText function doesn't work in Acrobat XI
I have a simple code compiled with the new Acrobat.tlb file, where I show a Pdf file in my application.
My .exe file works correctly on the PC with Acrobat Pro 9 installed.
In the pc with Acrobat X and Acrobat XI the FindText function doesn't work. The function return -1 (success) but the text isn't selected and the page isn't scrolled over the text.
Please can you tell me how I can approach?
If you want I can attach the code.
My customers will buy Acrobat Professional if this function works, it is better for us and for you if you help me in order to solve this drawback.
