My company wants to use PDF as the viewer formats of 3D and 2D, like 3D / 2D PDF into our application.

So, I was trying to get SDK toolkit for them, but it seems it's not that easy to find it out.

Is there anyone using sdk for 3d or 2d? Or knowing download or manual links?

If there is some fields like the following, is there anyway (maybe using API or SDK) to get the position of the fields (for example left 47.52 pt, ...) and the name of the field (in this case Text1, Text2 and Text5)? I would like to export these information into a text document or XML.

We have created web-based system for a customer that stores/handles Microsoft word documents and provides these to users as PDF versions. Unfortunately some problems appear with our third-party component that generates PDF from Word. Our customer has previously used Adobe Acrobat X Pro to manually generate the PDF files and is confident that the output produced this way is valid. Despite searching and reading a lot I can't find any way to determine if (and how) it is possible to automate the process of generating a PDF file from a Microsoft word file using the Adobe engine. There is a lot of SDK documentation, how to control PDF rendering in winforms applications etc. etc. All I want to do is to load an Adobe Acrobat instance, feed it with a word document and save it as a PDF on disk. From a C# app (ASP.NET). Is that possible?

I'm working with Microsoft Office VBA. In the Acrobat WebCapture 1.0 Type Library (AcrobatWeb2PDF ) there's a function CWeb2PDF with a NewDocumentWithBase method. It takes the arguments pClient, pDocument and basePath. I can't find any documentation on how to use this function. Especially, what are kinds of objects should I be passing as the first two arguments?

1. I've got an Internet Explorer object open that I'm working with -- can that be passed to this function?

2. is the second argument "pDocument" a PDDoc object?

When I try to run the CommonInterfaceAIR.air SnippetRunner I get the following error message from Adobe Air.

The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author.

I am studying the Acrobat DC SDK Documentation, which states that I should register a four character prefix with Adobe for my plug-in.  How is that done?  Whom should I contact?

I downloaded the Acrobat SDK samples and opened the 'All' solution.  When I try to build, for example, BatesNumbering, I get a LNK1104 error because it cannot open LIBCPMT.lib.

I am using the Visual Studio 2013 (v120) Platform Toolset within Visual Studio 2017.

The Acrobat SDK documentation mentions that the Pascal calling convention should be used; which I take to mean that the sample project Calling Convention should be set to _sdtcall (/Gz).  However, upon inspecting the Calling Convention properties for the samples, I see __cdecl (/Gd).

I thought that plug-in technology would be the slam-dunk answer to my application needs, but was disappointed when I realized that the x64 third party library that I want to use with my plug-in will not work with Win32.  So how can I get it done?

The following is an incomplete list of what I want my application to do:

1. Give the user a UI/window in which to interact with PDF pages.  This would preferably be Acrobat.
2. Provide the user with drawing tools with which the user can draw lines, boxes, circles, etc. on pages and have those saved in a layer, with zoom capabilities, for that page.
3. The user will have access to a "snipping tool", similar to Microsoft's Snipping Tool, used to capture and save images from PDF pages to a library/list of images.
4. The user will be able to search for text and images on other yet unopened PDF document pages.
5. The user will be able to use the image library to search for images on pages; including images within images that are on pages.  Here, I assume that the PDF document pages will be converted to binary image format and stored in memory.  The search would be in memory rather than on disk.
6. Machine learning would be used to search for "similar" text and images within documents.  This is where the above mentioned x64 third party library would come into play.
7. The user would maintain a list of document filenames which are of interest.
8. Results of successful searches would record data such as document names, text/image coordinates and other meta data to a database.
9. The app must utilize multicore processing and GPU acceleration when available.

I do not believe that a plug-in alone would give me what I need, especially considering that the third party library is compiled as x64.  IAC looks interesting, but, again, doesn't allow all that I need. 

Would some combination of plug-in + IAC + PDF Library be an answer?  Or am I overlooking something that would make this task a lot easier?

Ok so most things i've been able to figure out myself, including how to name a page etc. This i can not seem to be able to figure out how to do if it's even possible to do...

I have created 2 pages that are templates, 1 is a calculator, the other is sales... i would like to be able to get it that when the page spawns from a button that it will spawn with the name of the actually page. so when you click on calculator it will spawn a page with the name calculator, and when it's sales it will say sales... There will only be 1 page of each so there will never be multiply pages of the same thing. The document is limited to 3 pages between the buttons that spawn pages.

With i also want to be able to have it that when someone pushes down with mouse on a checkmark that the page for example with the name sales will be deleted automatically. i can't do it by page numbers because sometimes there's only 2 pages, sometimes there's 3 and it depends on the spawn order to with one is which so deleting by page numbers isn't helping...

Any ideas would be helpful.

I am hoping to get some help with a work problem I recently "inherited"... The company I am working for has rendered my services to help them get their information system application migrated from Windows XP machines to Windows 10 machines. The core components of the program were developed in Visual Basic 6, Crystal Reports 8, and Adobe Acrobat 5. I already know 99% of peoples answers are along the lines of "You need to upgrade" or "Why are you using that?!". For those people, the answer is simply because my immediate need is to use what I was given, and the eventual plan is to migrate everything over to newer versions of these core components.

I have made some code adjustments already and found some other updated drivers for other dependencies, and so far through initial testing, it seems the application is performing as expected.

Unfortunately, yesterday, I hit a major snag where the application is trying to print to the "Adobe PDFWriter" printer, which doesn't seem to be installed on Windows 10, even though I installed Adobe Acrobat 5.0, as administrator, with the "Include PDFWriter files" option checked during install.

• I can't find the printer in the list of printers.
• I can't find any specific ports or drivers for Adobe when trying to manually add the printer.
• The main PDFWriter dll, "pdfddui.dll", and supporting dlls, ("pdfdd.dll", "pdfkd.dll") do not exist under the "Windows\System32\spool\drivers" location, which is where they are found on a working Windows XP machines.
• The main dlls and supporting dlls mentioned above DO exist under "Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64"
• When searching the registry for the main dll or supporting dlls, nothing is found, suggesting the dlls weren't able to successfully register.
• When trying to manually register the dlls using "\Windows\SysWoW64\regsvr32.exe" it fails.
• When trying to manually register the dlls using "\Windows\System32\regsvr32.exe" it fails.

The code that is executing is doing the following:

• It dynamically builds a crystal report from a SQL query based on parameters from a form.
• It uses the crystal reports "SelectPrinter" function to specify the Printer.DriverName, Printer.DeviceName, Printer.Port
• It uses the crystal reports "PrintOut" function to specify not to prompt the user for any input, i.e. "silent print".

The end result, what I need to replicate, and what I need the communities help with is that Crystal Reports:

• Prints the file as a PDF SILENTLY with NO user action required.
• Prints the file with a specific filename.
• Prints the file to a specific location.

I have tried using Microsofts built-in Print to PDF, and that works, BUT it prompts the user to save the file, and I see no way to programmatically change that from VB6.

I would imagine newer versions of Adobe Acrobat ARE NOT compatible with Visual Basic 6, additionally, the licenses for Adobe Acrobat are kind of pricey when the ONLY functionality I need is the ability to programmatically print to PDF.

Any useful comments, suggestions, resolutions will be very much appreciated!

I'm an intern working on a program that uses the OpenXml SDK to modify some info in a word doc and then convert it to PDF using interop. Unfortunately I am unable to programmatically password-protect the PDF or change any of the security settings with interop. I'm looking for a way to do this that doesn't require me to release my source code or require my employer to pay for a software license. I've heard that I might need to write a plugin in C++ and then use unmanaged exports to call it in C#. Is this true? What are my options?
